1. Who we are

Courier Drivers provides the Courier Passport information service at courierpassport.com. We are not your employer, insurer, or a government body.

2. What a valid passport means

A valid Courier Passport means that, at the time of issue or last revalidation, the required checks (identity, driving licence, and right to work) were completed and are currently in date. Own-van cover, where recorded, is goods in transit, public liability, and courier van insurance for a named vehicle. DBS is optional unless a hirer asks.

It is not:

  • a guarantee of employment or of a driver’s conduct, competence, or honesty;
  • a transfer of an employer’s right-to-work, health-and-safety, or insurance duties;
  • insurance cover, an FCA-regulated product, or a DBS certificate.

Hiring businesses remain responsible for their own decisions.

3. Drivers

You must provide accurate information and keep checks in date. If a required check lapses, the passport is no longer valid until you complete that check again (same passport number, new valid-until date).

You control which businesses may look up your issued passport. Incomplete applications are not passports and must not be presented as valid.

We may email 30 / 7 / 1-day reminders and a notice when the passport is no longer valid. Completing the lapsed check keeps the same number. We may also email a password-reset link if you ask for one.

You may add an issued passport to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Status on that pass is information only; platforms still look up status via the API with your consent.

4. Businesses and API users

You may query an issued passport only with the driver’s consent. You receive status, not source documents. You must not cache status longer than necessary or present our service as your own vetting without disclosure.

Live API keys require KYB approval and a signed DPA.

5. Fees

Drivers are not charged for the core passport. Businesses pay according to the then-current plan. Identity, DBS, and occupational-health provider fees may be passed through.

6. Acceptable use

No unauthorised access, scraping, credential stuffing, or using the API to build a competing raw-data feed of DVLA/DBS/identity payloads.

7. Privacy, cookies, and electronic communications

Our privacy notice and cookie policy form part of these terms. Browser storage for sign-in and cookie choices is described there. Optional analytics run only with consent.

8. Liability

The service is provided as an information tool. To the extent permitted by law we exclude liability for hiring decisions, accidents, or third-party provider outages. Nothing excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

9. Law

England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the EEA, mandatory local consumer protections still apply.
