How the passport is built
Stage 1 is required to be issued. DBS is optional unless a hirer asks. Stage 2 is only for drivers who work in their own van.

- What is Courier Passport?
- Courier Passport is UK courier driver verification. You complete identity, driving licence, and right to work once. When an operator confirms those checks, you hold one numbered passport that courier businesses can look up.
- What is courier driver verification?
- It is proof that a courier’s identity, licence, and right to work have been checked and are in date. Courier Passport stores status, not document files. The hiring business still has the legal duty to decide who to hire.
- Do I need a new identity check for every courier app?
- No. After you are issued a Courier Passport you present the same number. The business requests access, you approve, and they see whether the passport is currently valid. You do not repeat KYC on every platform.
- Which checks are required to be issued?
- Stage 1 is required: Veriff identity, DVLA driving licence, and a Home Office right-to-work share code. DBS is optional unless a hirer asks. Own-van cover is a second, additive stage for a named vehicle.
- Is a Courier Passport employment clearance?
- No. It is an information service. It is not a job offer, not a guarantee of conduct, and not a transfer of right-to-work or insurance legal duty.

Stage 2 needs a live status feed for goods in transit, public liability, and courier van insurance. Insurers can also express interest in listing from-prices or quoting for cover. Courier Passport does not sell insurance.
